Deer Hunting Season is upon us
And I had no idea how it would affect me till Joe got him self an 11 point buck this evening. Standing there, I found myself unable to breathe and crying. I had to go back in the house just to get away from the smell of death.
I also told him he couldn't 'dress' it here! He couldn't understand why I wasn't happy about his kill. And I couldn't explain it to him either. I mean, I'm happy he's happy. It's his first deer in the 7 yrs we've been together.
I'm not against hunting, there is a reason behind it. There is a long standing tradition, when done properly! When the meat is used and the hide is used and nothing goes to waste.
But I couldn't 'get behind' the death of such a graceful and beautiful animal. I won't be eating any of it either. Just the thought makes me sick to my stomach.
I probably won't even post a picture of it. But then again, he is awfully proud of himself. And I'm proud for him, just not of his actions.

Don't close your blinds ...
THIS IS THE BEST I'VE EVER READ EXPLAINING THE SITUATION AMERICA IS IN

Don't Close your Blinds! The other day, my nine year old son wanted to know why we were at war. My husband looked at our son and then looked at me. My husband and I were in the Army during the Gulf War and we would be honored to serve and defend our Country again today. I knew that my husband would give him a good explanation. My husband thought for a few minutes and then told my son to go stand in our front living room window.
He said "Son, stand there and tell me what you see?"
"I see trees and cars and our neighbor's houses." he replied.
"OK, now I want you to pretend that our house and our yard is the United States of America and you are President Bush."
Our son giggled and said "OK."
"Now son, I want you to look out the window and pretend that every house and yard on this block is a different country" my husband said.
"OK Dad, I'm pretending."
"Now I want you to stand there and look out the window and pretend you see Saddam come out of his house with his wife, he has her by the hair and is hitting her. You see her bleeding and crying. He hits her in the face, he throws her on the ground, then he starts to kick her to
death..
Their children run out and are afraid to stop him, they are screaming and crying, they are watching this but do nothing because they are kids and they are afraid of their father.
You see all of this, son....what do you do?"
"Dad?"
"What do you do son?"
"I'd call the police, Dad."
"OK. Pretend that the police are the United Nations. They take your call. They listen to what you know and saw but they refuse to help.
What do you do then son?"
"Dad.......... but the police are supposed to help!" My son starts to whine.
"They don't want to son, because they say that it is not their place or your place to get involved and that you should stay out of it," my husband says.
"But Dad...he killed her!!" my son exclaims.
"I know he did...but the police tell you to stay out of it. Now I want you to look out that window and pretend you see our neighbor who you're pretending is Saddam turn around and do the same thing to his children."
"Daddy...he kills them?"
"Yes son, he does. What do you do?"
"Well, if the police don't want to help, I will go and ask my next door neighbor to help me stop him," our son says.
"Son, our next door neighbor sees what is happening and refuses to get involved as well. He refuses to open the door and help you stop him," my husband says.
"But Dad, I NEED help!!! I can't stop him by myself!!"
"WHAT DO YOU DO SON?" Our son starts to cry.
"OK, no one wants to help you, the man across the street saw you ask for help and saw that no one would help you stop him. He stands taller and puffs out his chest. Guess what he does next son?"
"What Daddy?"
"He walks across the street to the old ladies house and breaks down her door and drags her out, steals all her stuff and sets her house on fire and then...he kills her. He turns around and sees you standing in the window and laughs at you. WHAT DO YOU DO?"
"Daddy..."
"WHAT DO YOU DO?"
Our son is crying and he looks down and he whispers, "I'd close the blinds, Daddy."
My husband looks at our son with tears in his eyes and asks him.
"Why?"
"Because Daddy.....the police are supposed to help people who needs them...and they won't help.... You always say that neighbors are supposed to HELP neighbors, but they won't help either...they won't help me stop him...I'm afraid....I can't do it by myself Daddy.....I can't
look out my window and just watch him do all these terrible things and...and.....do nothing...so....I'm just going to close the blinds....so I can't see what he's doing........and I'm going to pretend that it is not happening."
I start to cry. My husband looks at our nine year old son standing in the window, looking pitiful and ashamed at his answers to my husband's questions and he says...
"Son"
"Yes, Daddy."
"Open the blinds because that man.... he's at your front door... "WHAT DO YOU DO?"
My son looks at his father, anger and defiance in his eyes. He balls up his tiny fists and looks his father square in the eyes, without hesitation he says: " I DEFEND MY FAMILY DAD!! I'M NOT GONNA LET HIM HURT MOMMY OR MY SISTER, DAD!!! I'M GONNA FIGHT HIM, DAD, I'M GONNA FIGHT HIM!!!!!"
I see a tear roll down my husband's cheek and he grabs our son to his chest and hugs him tight, and says... " It's too late to fight him, he's too strong and he's already at YOUR front door son.....you should have stopped him BEFORE he killed his wife, and his children and the old
Lady across the way. You have to do what's right, even if you have to do it alone, before its too late." my husband whispers. THAT scenario I just gave you is WHY we are at war with Iraq. When good men stand by and let evil happen son, THAT is the greatest atrocity in the world.
"YOU MUST NEVER BE AFRAID TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO DO IT
ALONE!" BE PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN! BE PROUD OF OUR TROOPS!! SUPPORT
THEM!!! SUPPORT AMERICA SO THAT IN THE FUTURE OUR CHILDREN WILL NEVER
HAVE TO CLOSE THEIR BLINDS..."
This should be printed in every newspaper and posted in every school In America. Of course that won't happen so we'll use the internet. If your blinds are closed do nothing with this email. If they are open I do not need to tell you what to do.

What a Fabulous Weekend
WOW! I had a spectacular weekend! The weather held out and was beautiful both Saturday and Sunday.
I got some sun on Saturday while attending the Internationl Gold Cup. That was fun and am already making plans to attend the Virginia Gold Cup in May with a little tailgating. We watched 3 of the 5 races (I believe there were a total of 5), we saw the US Navel Seals jump in to open the day. Walked Vendors row and I tried on a few pieces of jewelry, WOW! At one point, I was sporting about $8,000 worth of jewelry. This Beautiful Tamaline(sp) Rainbow ring that was 10c and a heart shaped amathyst bracelet that was enormous, but beautiful.
I started the day having my hair put up instead of sporting a hat that day. Which is the posh thing to do on Member's Hill. But not everyone was wearing them. So, I wasn't too far out of the norm.
We finished out the evening with a surprise 60's birthday for Joe's stepdad. What a great group of older people and they could drink better than any young person I know. lolol
Sunday was the last day of the Maryland Renaissance Festival, we went, and I didn't dress, and everyone noticed. LOL It was the Day of Wrong, so Halloween abounded that day. There were the Mattrix crowd, Star Wars was there, you has your Prisoner and SWAT guy, and those were just the ones that stood out. The amount of flesh on display that day was incrediable. I put on a corset, working on my garb for next year, and I ended up with a small crowd of men watching as the wench had me lean up against the post and she tightened the thing. Talk about posture correcting! LOLOL Had several nice looking gentlemen offer to buy it if that was all I wear that day. LOL I couldn't help but to blush and gratefully decline.
What a weekend! I ended it by talking to my nephew in Alaska. He said my nickname and told me what sounds a dog, cat, monkey, cow, and duck say. I so miss him dearly and can't wait till he and my sister and bil return home to this contentient.

Bullying - CL 4914 Sound Familiar?
Bullying involves the torment of others through verbal Harassment, physical assult (not really revalant in this case as they are too skeerd to venture out and face anyone), or other more subtle methods of Coercion such as Manipulation (oh oh, pick me over her or I'll have you banned by Craig).
Bullying contains four essential elements:
1) the behavior is aggressive and negative;
2) the behavior is carried out repeatedly; and
3) the behavior is purposeful
Bullying is broken into two categories:
1) Direct bullying(neither have the guts to behave this way in public and in front of the person they are directing their actions at.)
2) Indirect bullying, also known as social aggression
Social aggression or indirect bullying is most common to FEMALE bullies and YOUNG CHILDREN (which is exactly what KH and Woody are), and is characterized by forcing the victim into social isolation (this is why they hate me so and continue to stalk and harass me, I refuse to go quietly into the night). This isolation is achieved through a wide variety of techniques, including:
1) spreading gossip
2) refusing to socialize with the victim
3) bullying other people who wish to socialize with the victim (this one backfired on deal ole Woody)
4) criticizing the victim's manner of dress and other socially-significant markers (including the victim's race, religion, disability, etc). **Don't forget family, low lifes with little to do will attack your family because they can't get to you.**
Research indicates that adults who bully have personalities that are authoritarian, combined with a strong need to control or dominate. It has also been suggested that a deficit in social skills and a prejudicial view of subordinates can be particular risk factors.
Further studies have shown that while envy and resentment may be motives for bullying, there is evidence that suggests bullies suffer from a deficit in self esteem.
Types of Serial Bully
The attention seeker: *not sure, but this could be Woody*
Motivation: to be the centre of attention
Mindset: control freak, manipulation, narcissistic
Malice: medium to high; when held accountable, very high
The Wannabe: *sounds to me like they nailed KH w/this one*
Motivation: craves respect for being competent and professional despite lacking in competence and professionalism
Mindset: deceptive
Malice: low to medium; when held accountable, medium to high
The Guru:
Motivation: task focused
Mindset: confusion, inability to understand how others think and feel
Malice: zero to low; when held accountable, low to medium (it's often the absence of malice that identifies a guru type of serial bully) but could be medium to high if narcissistic or psychopathic traits are present
The Socialised Psychopath or Sociopath: *Sounds about right for Woody*
Motivation: power, gratification, personal gain, survival
Mindset: manipulation, deception, evil
Malice: high to very high; when held accountable, off the scale
Fighting back:
It is generally accepted that, once under attack, fighting back may be the only means the victim has to defend themselves. Though other sources discourage this approach.
Bullying often takes the form of trying to provoke the target into fighting back so that the bully can claim to be the victimised party and only acting in self defence. This last statement couldn't have been more correct about the actions taken by Woody and KH.

Ever deal with someone who turns out to be so unpleasant they make the entire experience of knowing them miserable? Make you wish you'd never encountered them, never been nice to them initially, or wishing that you'd never even bothered to acknowledge their exsistance?
Ever try to distance yourself from that person only to find them sitting on your doorstep (chat forum or blog site) just waiting to annoy you, curse you, and berate you for for something they construe to be against them?
This person continues to demand an apology from you and you haven't done anything to them, or you've apologized previously and they so conveniently missed it? You aren't waiting for them, you aren't thinking of them, you aren't even associating with them any longer, yet they continue to harass and stalk you, all the while demanding an apology for your actions?
This is the type of person who uses foul language either directed at you or referring to you all the time, and will name call because they lack the intelligence of finding another solution to the problem. They see you as the problem, not them, not their actions leading up to, or the fact that they've gone out of their way to behave in such a manner and do so publically, yet you are still the problem.
This person can't get over the past, can't let go and refuses to leave you be?
I am currently dealing with just such an imature individual. She continue to hound my blog, trolling the MODERATED comments in hopes that I'll acknowledge her existance by allowing just one single comment through.
She stalks me on a mutual forum, having my handle deleted, accusing other's of being me when actually, I don't even waste time with her any longer. Now, I know what you are thinking, why not just leave that particular forum. Why indeed, I have good friends there; wonderfully funny, friendly, and super awesome friends there. I'd hate to have to give up something I enjoy because someone can't let go?

She stalks me on a mutual forum, having my handle deleted, accusing other's of being me when actually, I don't even waste time with her any longer. Now, I know what you are thinking, why not just leave that particular forum. Why indeed, I have good friends there; wonderfully funny, friendly, and super awesome friends there. I'd hate to have to give up something I enjoy because someone can't let go?
Well, just a little vent for the day. I'm looking forward to a wonderfully beautiful weekend at the International Gold Cup here in Virginia. A surprise Birthday party for a relative Saturday evening and the Maryland Renaissance Festival on Sunday with friends. Should make for a relaxing and fun filled weekend.

FAKE Federal Investigation Threat!!!!
I hate to inform the two individuals, who soo whole heartedly believe that I've been investigated by the Federal Government, that one or both of you have been duped! Or lied too, or spewed lies!!
In working with both the ONE single Staffing Agency I've worked with for the last 4.5 yrs and the Contractor who hired me for the Government Position, neither the HR or Legal departments for both companies EVER RECEIVED A REQUEST FOR EMPLOYMENT VERIFICATION or any other requests for my work history with the companies.
I've forwarded to them copies of the posts made by which ever one of you made them and I've also provided both your names and at least 1 address w/phone number and the other's IP address and State in which you live.
Needless to say, they aren't happy about being slandered. I hope you hear from them soon! And I hope you get everything you deserve! Have a nice life, however it turns out.

Threatening someone Using the Federal Government
It's been said that a Federal Investigation was conducted against me, brought on by my STALKER. They've also repeatedly mentioned the Staffing agency I worked for, as well as the company that hired me. Know this, threatening and harassing someone via the internet with a false statement indicating the Federal Government is a crime!
Well, I've been in contact with both the legal department and the HR department of both companies, as has my lawyer. And no one ever spoke with a Federal Investigator or made false statements to the effect that I was 'terminated'. If they had, I could have sued them both and been very well off! So, the postings made on CL have been passed via lawyers to both companies and I'm sure action will be taken. At least I can only hope they'll step up and clean their name from this childish trash going on here.
My current lawyer has begun to work with a Lawyer in Oregan as well. I might be taking a trip out to Oregan, I've heard it's nice out that way. Oh well, I hate this has taken this turn.

Wow.. I've offended my NAIVE STALKER
And you wouldn't believe who it is? Nope, not dear ole Woody, but Knuckles. She thinks I'm the stalker, following people from forum to forum, name calling, bashing, harassing and STALKING!
Here are excerts from her post to my previous posting.
"You are a very sick, sad & pathetic individual." Yet she can instagate arguments and follow folks from forum to forum and NEVER post her indiscretions. Nope, not KH, she never does a thing wrong!
"It is YOU who makes calls to someone's home, harasses by email, wishes DEATH and/or HARM to others, violates Fed. Government regulations and government contractor computer access to be on CL, to enable your sick addiction." True, I made 1 phone call to see about resolving like adults this situation that has gotten out of hand. Yet the SINGLE individual I phone hung and then called the MCPD and both of us were chidded for behaving like children and told that we were wasting their time.
"Your online activities have been investigated by a federal agency, the investigative agent is the one who has revealed that you have been "TERMINATED" from your temporary agency jobs FOUR TIMES ALREADY..." This statement couldn't be more false than if she created it herself. What a shame she has no idea what she's talking about. I have never been 'terminated' and I surely haven't lost 4 jobs in the last 4 months. If the above statement were true, I'd not hold the position I do currently. Pretty sad if you ask me all the work these 2 put into my life, wish I had that kind of time.
"You've just been flagged & reported again to Google and you will be required to remove this post. Oh such a shame!" This my dear won't happen, just like it didn't happen the first time you and that 'dog' of yours Woody tried to get my blog removed!

I don't think so missy, didn't feel good did it to have to explain your actions on CL? Now you know how I felt when Woody harassed via email and cell, my boss. I merely stated her name, your name and the cities and states you both live in. You truly are niave and I do so feel sorry for you.
What a sad world this individual lives in. I was taunted into an argument a week or so ago in 4914 and gave in out of sheer frustration. But I do not STALK or FOLLOW folks from forum to forum only giving out HALF OF THE INFORMATION. KH, why not post all your handles, and all of Woody's handles, all what? 100 or more of them? How many email accts do you have to manage them. I don't know about you, but I'm tired of the childishness.

And what is the saddest part of all this, this STALKER was by far the worst individual of all on CL. She'll'google' your name, find your personal information and post it on CL for all to see. It's been said she'd sign you up for Porn and other adult sites using your email address. She's signed folks up for magazines. She's passed photos and phone numbers and mailing addresses out to others who have done far worse to a target. She's even phone employers and made attempts to get people fired from work.
Yet, you retaliate and she's calling the police on you or threatening a Federal Investigation for Internet harassment. She has nothing better to do with her life than spend 12 to 14 hrs (personally admitted too by her hand) on CL flagging and STALKING from forum to forum folks she does not care for. She'll post in grey and there's nothing wrong with it, but yet, you post in GREY and you are hiding from Craig.
She can spew foul names, poke fun at your family and make snid comments; yet you come back at her or her 'girlfriend' and you get flagged and sent to Craig. Of which I'm sure poor Craig has to be super tired of hearing from this mentally insane individual, because he's been removing her just as much as he's been removing other violators of the TOU. He might actually be far more tired of her than me. Which would be nice for once.

She has one known niave follower by the name of Knucklehead (KH) (AA of Oregon) who felt the sting of an employer getting a phone call from what I hear. That couldn't have been pretty. I know mine wasn't. Too bad, you play with fire you are bound to get burned.

No Dog deserves this!!!!
This is No Chance, down in St. John's shelter in Louisiana. Here is his story, and if you can help him, please do!! Even if it's just on a temporary basis. You reward with come to you Ten Fold!!"PLEADING FOR HELP: Meet No Chance. No Chance, has no chance in hell of making it without rescue. He is sweet, submissive and hungry. He is currently at the St. John Animal Shelter, another inmate, subjected to animal neglect and cruelty. This sweet affectionate puppy is possibly a it bull mix and St. John Animal Shelter is not permitted to adopt pitbulls or pit mixes to the public.
No Chance will be euthanized in a few days. Can anyone offer this little guy a prayer of a better life? A Second Chance??? He is possibly 5 months old and super affectionate - all he wants to do is curl up in someone's lap. A three-year-old pit bull named Marley is credited with saving a little girl in Alaska from a house fire in early December.
Marley, a black and white dog who looks like Pete from the Little Rascals television show, grabbed the back of six-year-old Autumn Marley's jacket to drag her out of the burning house.
Autumn alerted her mother who was cooking dinner that the entryway to the house was on fire.
Julie Marley then forced open a seldom used back door so she and her two daughters could escape the fire.
As Ms. Marley left the house she turned to see Marley the dog pulling Autumn through the door to safety.
Jennifer Ingram, Marley's guardian, said that, "She's always been an awesome dog, but I didn't know she was capable of doing this." Ingram has raised Marley from a puppy.
Ms. Ingram was out shopping for Christmas presents when the fire broke out and arrived home to find Marley running loose in the midst of all the firefighters and bystanders.
She planned to take Marley to the vet to treat frostbite on her feet from being out in the snow.
Thanks to Autumn and Marley no one was injured in the fire, although the house was a total loss.
The Red Cross set up a place for the Marley family to stay, while Ms. Ingram and Marley the dog are staying with a friend.

Good thing Gaston County, North Carolina doesn't have a ban on pit bulls, or this man wouldn't be alive this morning.
Steve Carpacca, 41, was asleep in his mobile home at 3:15am when his pit bull ran into the bedroom and started barking frantically.
The man awoke to a room filled with smoke and immediately ran outside. When he realized that his dog had not followed him, he rushed back into the blazing trailer, armed with two 5-pound fire extinguishers, but the fire was already out of control.
Four fire departments responded to the call, and it took a total of 15 firefighters to douse the flames. The dog never made it out; fire crews found the little hero's body in the hall just outside Mr. Carpacca's bedroom.
Mr. Carpacca was devastated at the loss of his dog.
"The dog saved his life, absolutely," said Chief Dicky Harris with the Community Volunteer Fire Department. "If the dog hadn't been in the house, [Mr. Carpacca] would have been overcome by smoke."

'Pit' Puppy saves boy, 4, from injury
A puppy saved its four-year-old owner from serious injury after the boy stepped on a manhole cover and plunged feet first into a sewer.
The accident happened last Thursday when Jack Sorrell, from High Brooms, was holding the Staffordshire Bull Terrier on a walk with his grandfather.
Fortunately Mia the dog pulled forward on the lead and stopped Jack from falling down any further.
Kent County Council denied any blame as the drain is on private land.
But Jack's father Tony Philips said it was the second such incident.
"The lady who lives next door, her husband fell through the same drain hole two months ago and they reported it, but it still hasn't been fixed."Norman Kelly, the youngster's grandfather, demanded that something be done.
"It's down by a set of garages so it should be able to take the weight of a vehicle, never mind the weight of a four-year-old child.
Jack described the experience as "scary".
His father said it could have been a lot worse because his son suffers from a medical condition where by he can stop breathing if he hits his head.
He added: "Mia's a super dog, she's a star and she's Jack's saviour."

For Pit Bulls, It's A Bum Rap

The story was all over the TV news in July: Hartford police shot a pit bull six times after the dog attacked a woman, who needed 17 stitches in her calf.
Most people probably paid little heed, or merely thought "typical pit bull."
Some of us, though, saw that story and shuddered. Not with fear but sympathy.
For the dog.
The images were telling: a small fenced-in dirt yard, a giant chain with a broken padlock at the end, scared bystanders describing the ferocious dog.
Sitting on the couch in my condo, watching, I blanched. I looked over at my pit, Augustus, reclining on the couch next to me. He, too, came from the streets of Hartford, where he earned his scars in fights with other dogs.
A skinny wraith when he was rescued, now he's 80 pounds of black-and-tan affection, winning the hearts of everyone he meets. Well, mostly everyone. Some people still cross the street when they see him coming.
Everyone's heard the stereotypes about pit bulls: They're vicious. (Occasionally.) They were bred for fighting. (True.) They can bite down with thousands of pounds of pressure. (False.)
Once they bite, their jaws lock and never let go. (False.)
But talk to pit bull owners and you'll hear a different message:
"They are the most loyal, loving dogs you'll ever own," said Barbie Perry, executive director of Canton-based Hot Water Rescue, an organization that rescues, fosters and places the so-called "bully breeds" like pit bulls and Rottweilers."
They are so loving," said Mariette, owner of three adopted pit bulls who lives in Barkhamsted with her husband Steve. She didn't want her last name used because she's afraid her insurance company would raise their insurance premiums for having pit bulls."
They are wonderful dogs," said Stacey, a Winchester resident who withheld her last name for the same reason. She and her boyfriend adopted their pit bull, Maple, from a shelter after the dog was seized by the FBI during a drug raid in Hartford. Since getting to know Maple, Stacey said, her boyfriend's father, sister and brother have each adopted pits of their own.
Loyal, loving, affectionate - downright snuggly, in fact - are words used to describe pits by those who own them. And it seems that once you meet a pit, it won't be long before you want one.
It's the dogs' loyalty that helped them earn their reputation as deadly fighters. Originally bred to bait bulls or to fight in arenas called pits - hence the name - the dogs' owners had to be able to enter the ring and separate the dogs if necessary. Any dog that showed aggression toward humans was usually put down.
Pit bulls' "ultimate instinct is to do whatever they have to to earn their owner's love," said Perry, a slight woman with long dark hair and intense blue eyes, whose extensive knowledge of the bully breeds is matched by her passion for rescuing them. " The dogs were bred to be non-aggressive to humans."
The name "pit bull" is used to describe a type of dog, most often one of three breeds: the American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier and Staffordshire Bull Terrier. All three have short coats, well-muscled bodies and stoic demeanors.
Petey, the dog on The Little Rascals comedies of the 1920 and '30s, was an American Staffordshire terrier. Helen Keller's service dog was a pit bull-type. And a Staffordshire terrier named Sgt. Stubby was a decorated World War I canine hero who warned troops of incoming gas and helped flush out enemy snipers.
It's only in the past 20 years or so that pit bulls have acquired a bad reputation, according to Karen Delise, author of "Fatal Dog Attacks, The Stories Behind the Statistics." And it largely stems from irresponsible owners, who chain their dogs in back yards, starve them, beat them, fight them or throw them away if they aren't good fighters.
"Most pits don't want to fight," said Perry. "They want to be loving to people. They're the ultimate family companion."
"My bird and my dog can chew on the same bone," said Stacey. When a Chihuahua bit Maple on the nose, "She didn't react at all."
Many pit owners mentioned the sense of responsibility that comes with owning such a high-profile, much-maligned breed. They take care to keep their dogs leashed and make sure they're well-trained and obedient."
I'm overly cautious," said Liz Taylor of East Hartford.
"I'm harder on my dog because she's a pit bull," said Stacey. "I make sure she has impeccable behavior. I'm proud to say she's a pit bull."
Perry offered advice for those thinking of getting one. Educate yourself, so you know exactly what you're getting. Be prepared to face prejudice. Be ready for a full-time commitment; the dogs need lots of exercise. If you're getting a puppy, make sure it's socialized with other dogs at an early age.
The extra precautions and work of owning a pit bull are worth it, owners say. "I couldn't imagine owning any other dog," said Taylor.
Neither can I.
But Perry, whose organization rescued Gus from the streets, is right when she urges people to research the breed. Pit bulls aren't for everyone. Gus can be a handful at times, and he can't be around other dogs. On my insurance forms, he's listed as "mutt."
But visitors to my condo are more in danger of getting licked to death or thwacked by his constantly wagging tail than they are of getting bitten. On a recent night, as six friends sat around talking, Gus walked joyfully from person to person, a big pitty smile on his face. One woman sat tucked into a corner of the couch, keeping a wary eye on him. Correctly sensing her fear of dogs, he climbed onto the couch next to her, sticking his big anvil-shaped head close to hers and licking her ear.
By the end of the night, he'd won another heart.

Owners Accountable for Dangerous Dogs

As well they should be held Accountable for THEIR dog's actions! It is them who teach or lack there of, the dog it's behavor.
This blog; written by a local Virginia Lawyer, makes for fine reading on the topic. I'd rather vote for a law that holds the HUMAN responsible, than vote for one that lumps all of one breed regardless into one catagory for distruction.
"On Sunday, one pitbull got loose in Monroe Park and attacked at least five people, causing puncture wounds from the dog's teeth. Witnesses at the scene told police that the dog was not provoked and just went "wild". The owner admitted to one reporter that this dog had been known to attack. Notwithstanding, he decided to take this dog for a walk without a muzzle or any special chain."
The above individual should be sued by those biten by his dog. He was at fault souly, he failed to train his dog properly or 'walk' it properly. But in the end, HIS dog will be put down or was. Due to the Ignorance of this poor dog's owner, he pays the Highest price of all! His life!

ONTARIO MOVES TO BAN LABRADOR RETRIEVERS

The Attorney General for Ontario announced last night that in view of the success of the province's ban on pit bulls the government is turning its attention to another very popular breed of dog.
He made the following announcement at a press conference late yesterday: "These dogs are involved in more biting and mauling incidents than any other breed in Ontario. Every time I read a news report about a dangerous dog, it involves a Lab or a Lab cross. We had another incident today in Waterloo involving Labs attacking people on the street. Enough is enough. It's time to take a long, hard look at these dogs."
When questioned about the advisability of bringing the issue before the public in an election year, the Attorney General said: "The public wants to be protected from dangerous dogs. The public supported the pit bull ban because they knew it was time to get dangerous dogs off our streets and out of our parks and backyards. The precedent has been set, our ban is working and it's time to look at other types of dogs involved in large numbers of bites and attacks."
As to whether it would be put to a vote in the Legislature or if public hearings would be held as they were for the pit bull ban, the response was: "We went through a vote, we had public hearings and we remained convinced that banning pit bulls was the right thing to do. The law allows the government to add any breeds or mixed breeds to its list of prohibited dogs without consultation. Municipalities have that authority as well."
The Opposition Critic could not be reached for comment. The NDP Attorney General Critic had this to say:
"I don't know why anyone would be surprised by this announcement.
The Attorney General has already proven he is capable of banning dogs because of their breed. Labs are one of the most popular dogs in the province, why wouldn't they be next? More dogs, more bites - it isn't rocket science".
Asked if he thought adding another breed to the ban would protect the public, he replied "I don't know about the public. I think this is more about protecting the Attorney General's seat."

An abused, dying pup becomes a drug-sniffing superdog

"He's a little ball of fire" says U.S. Customs officer J.J. Trevino of Popsicle (Receiving a significant Seizure medal in March).
During an arrest two years ago, Buffalo policeman Ron Clark, Jr. opened an abandoned freezer on a known drug dealer's back porch and found a bulging black garbage bag.
"I poked my flashlight at it," he recalls, "and it started moving. My worst fear was that it was a baby."In fact, it was a puppy, a pit bull who would be known as Popsicle and -- in a lovely ironic twist-- would gain fame for sniffing out the kind of bad guy that nearly killed him.
One year ago, Popsicle helped the feds seize 3,075 pounds of cocaine from a pineapple-laden truck at the Mexican border-the biggest drug bust ever at the Hidalgo, Texas, port of entry. "It's astounding the obstacles this dog has overcome," says US Customs Service Commissioner Raymond W. Kelley.
When Officer Clark found the wounded, blood-caked animal who had apparently been used in pit bull fights, he was undernourished, hypothermic and near death. "He was in bad shape, but I was drawn to him," says SPCA adoption counselor Shannon Willie, who name the pup Popsicle.
Alas, people who visited the shelter looking to adopt a puppy were put off by his breed's reputation. They would take one look at the pit bull and walk away.
When Popsicle regained his strength, the shelter contacted US Customs canine-enforcement officer Sally Barr. It was a long shot, but maybe he would qualify for the dog training school in Front Royal, VA.
Of 500 dogs Barr has tested in the last three years, only 4 have made the cut. "You want a dog that plays a terrific tug-of-war," says Barr. Popsicle did, and in February 1998 he graduated at the top of his class and became a celebrated alumnus two months later by detecting the record contraband cache under a tractor-trailer.
"You have to imagine him," says US Customs canine handler J.J. Trevino ,"on his hind legs, barking, trying to reach up to the bottom of the truck."
Back in Buffalo, where the bad guy eventually got off with probation for animal cruelty, Ron Clark remains awed by Popsicle's comeback. "I still don't know why I opened that refrigerator," says Clark. "But it feel like it was meant to be."

It's a Beautiful late Summer Day!
It's been awhile since I've done this. I would prefer to be far more diligent at it, but you can say Life sorta gets in the way. Since my sister and nephew left in July for home in Alaska, I've traveld home to Williamsburg, I guess twice now. Not as often as I'd like to though.
I've done some volunteering in that time as well, home visits for families looking to adopt and I've even surfed through CL and offered up some advice and info for those looking for help with a new pup or a rescued animal.
I've since taken the choke collar and the prong collar off Angus and we are using a Halti. You'd think I was trying to murder the poor pup with this thing the way he behaves, but he's coming along nicely, wish I had stuck to it the first time. :( Oh well, hindsight is always 20/20.
The job I took in May with a small software company is moving right along. Bob is so genuinely nice and it's hard to think I'm preparing to accept a much better, salary wise, job offer with a far more prominant Government Company in the area. BUT, family has to come first and as much as I am enjoying my current job, the money just isn't there to live like I have grown accustom to.
Wow, that last statement just really sounds lousy to me. I would have never thought there would be a 'style' or a 'quality' of life I just had to live within. I hadn't ever seen myself as a 'uppy individual'. But I guess you can't live on love and family alone.
I'm hoping to have some new pictures of the family here soon. I'd like to post a few here. Angus is growing like a weed and Kacie and Atlas need updated photos taken of them as well. I think once the weather begins to truly turn, I'll have Joe set up his tripod and see if we can get a good group photo outside in the backyard.
Joe is getting ready to celebrate his 33rd birthday on August 24th. I've managed to get 2 of his WWII prints framed thanks to my mother; who btw, is an amazing 'master' framer. She owns her own business and works for MWR on Fort Eustis, VA. The one he has wanted done for a while was of him taken by Rob Gibson of Gettysburg, PA, and is of him holding a vintage WWII machine gun 'laying in wait' to ambush WWII vintage troops at the corner of a 'house'. This photograph was taken with a working vintage 1940's camera and produced in B&W and inlaid on an old German magazin cover called 'Signal'. Emotions running deep today..
Althought today was filled with love, friends and family, it's also a sad day for me. Don't know why really.. but it's a day that feels like a good cry would help both physically and emotionally.. Every have one of those?? Naaa.. never mind..
Anyway, started the day with rollers in my hair, ever try sleeping with those bitches in your hair? OMG!! lolol My hair really didn't turn out the way I wanted it. If you've ever seen a 'Paige boy' do from the 40's; well, that didn't happen for me.. LOL oh well, live and learn. Dressing in my pretty vintage yellow chaffon day dress with backseam stockings, a vintage 40's bra with absolutely no give.. lol but it was cool, and my cute vintage hat with matching yellow gloves.
I met my folks and my sister and nephew in Warrenton and we headed for Sully Plantation for the morning to visit with Joe and his crew of WWII German Geibergs Yager(sp) soldiers and some American and Russian soldiers for a Day of Living History. It was a fun morning, Mason loved the planes, we were in the flight path of Dulles Internation Airport. He also loved the mock 'live' fire the soldiers did. He loves loud noises. Smiles for days and lots of hand clapping, and playing in the dirt today as well. :D
Spending time with my mom and dad and sister was nice too. We talked, walked around, and sweated like pigs this morning. LOL So off to Applebees for lunch and then to Fair Oaks mall to walk around and kill time. Stopped at Aunt Annies for pretezels and a slurpy, Mason loved my orange-creme slurpie. :D He loved the water feature in the center of the mall, and he's a people watcher. Loved to just sit and watch the passer's by.
Well, here comes the moment of weakiness on my part. I hate saying good bye, especially when I know it's because I won't be seeing my sister or nephew till this time next year. Can't really afford a ticket to Alaska and they aren't due to return 'state side' with the Air Force till 2008. So, it was a little hard today to say good bye knowning that it truly was a good bye. So, I had a weak moment, I cried.. It felt good though, once I got in the car, rolled the windows down and turned the radio up really really loud! lolol Ponytail and favorite blue ball cap and driving fast made it all feel that much better.
Knowning that I have a terrific family, supportive in all I do, and totally loving, is awesome! I know not everyone in the world is as lucky as I am. Not only with just my family, but friends too! I don't think I could ask for more, even if given the chance.

As for demanding these grown woman 'control' someone they've never met, how much more ridiculous can you be? And I won't be controlled by anyone! You have a problem with me, come at me and leave them out of it!

Well, while I sit here contemplating my next move, I have Atlas at my feet, and Angus is tormenting Kacie in the living room. What a wild little man he is. So full of life and energy, he'd get along well with my nephew.

Rounding out my night ..
What a weekend this 4th has turned out to be. Unable to travel to North Carolina to be with my family, we spent today/night with my husband's family helping them clean out their basement from all the rain/flood waters. What a nasty mess that was. We finished our day with steak on the grill, along with baked potatoes and fresh sweet corn.
Tomorrow is my sister's birthday, so I'll be phoning her and hopfully planning a trip up this weekend before my sister and nephew return to Alaska. My nephew is the light of my life! So smart at this age, so into life and enjoying the simple things we take for granted.
My husband and I will be dressed in our WWII gard and it will be nice to have my family enjoying the Living History event at Sully Plantation. It's a beautiful park, and close to the house, so they won't be in the car all day. Oh, by the way, we portray Germans, yes, you heard me. My husband is a German Soldier. Well, actually, his character is based off a man who was of Austrain birth, loyal to the Austrain Government, yet forced into the German Army or his family would parish. His group portrays Austrian Mountain troops.
This week will be spent on making sure the house is squared away for their visit. I know they won't stay here with us, our guest room is incomplete. I haven't found an antique bedroom set yet that I like or fits the era of my home. I'm also on the look out for an antique iron or wood daybed for our other guest room. Which is currently serving as my husband's 'war' room. It hosts all his signed prints of which my mother framed for him. It plays host to all his re-enacting gear and our gun case with numerous vintage WWII rifles and pistols, all in working order.
The stream out in front of the house this week was beautiful sounding. Rushing with all that rain fall we had. To sit out on my front porch that is 25 x 4 and listen to the stream is a beautiful and peaceful sound. The lighening bugs a night around here are amazing! I can't wait to get my new wicker porch set restored and new seat cushions done. I've had an idea as well, take lattice and frame it out like a picture frame, and using 2 'o' rings and 2 'j' hooks, hang it from the end of the porch that over looks my neighbors house. As a screen sorta.
Evenually, I'll get my porch swing for the front porch, and we'll screen in the back porch and add a hottub. We will have our backyard fenced in, which is over an acre big, I think the dogs will enjoy that! Not having to be leashed walked anymore. We have the remains of the original 'Mill' house as part of our yard. I plan to clean that out and make it a party place. It's cool, and was made originally of stones from the local quarry. There is such history here, I am in love with this peaceful place.
Our black bear family have been spotted recently. The daddy bear pulled my rubbermaid trash can from the back porch and mauled it to get it open, that was a tad bit scarey.. lol The deer are running, and they enjoy my backyard for grazing. I'd love to do a veggie garden, but I'd be afriad to feed the wildlife. lolol :D
Well, I've rambled enough for one evening. I need me some lovin', so I think we'll walk the dogs and go to bed early tonight. Sleep well all... :D

Wicker Repair, what an undertaking
I purchased last night, for a virtual steal, a set of wicker furniture. A loveseat, 2 chairs, and a small table. All white, but it needs some help. I'm going to take this project on myself. I will first attempt to wash down and get off as much of the flaking old paint as possible. Then I'm going to make an attempt to fix the legs of the loveseat and chairs.
Well, wish me luck. I also have to figure out some way to keep the neighbors feral cats down off my furniture as well. I'll post pics of the furniture before I begin, in the middle of and when I finish. :D

Wow.. I can't believe I've not found the time to worry
About any of this crap still being played out within the CL Forums. Staffie imposters, how flattering; my very own stalker, geee whizzzz.. lol How did I get so lucky?! :D
And someone who's apologized to me more than once in an IM/PM (instant message/private message) promising to let 'a dead dog lie.' But I guess what ever secret she claims to have about me is just sooo juicey she feels the need to taunt, use foul language and 'change her mind' as often as I hope she changes her panties.. If she wears any.
With this new job, I've found myself on the net all day, but not able to have fun. It's awesome! I hosted/moderated my very first small Conference yesterday, so I wasn't around for even my friends. Sorry ladies.. :( I did miss the gossip. :D
This weekend is moving furniture and washing walls, windows and the dogs. :D Anyone want to help out? I sure could use it. lolol Next weekend is a WWII Re-enacting event at Sully Plantation in Chatilly, VA. I'll be a 'vintage_biatch' lol all dressed in yellow and my man, a German/Austrian Gebiregs soldier. He's so handsome.
I'll post a few pics when we get them developed.. Ok, out for the night.. KH, if you truly have something, how about sharing it with me. Or hell, post if here as a comment.

Craig preventing folks from posting
Wow, running a publically policed community and he has the nerve to request folks stop posting to his forums. That or he'll contact their ISP. Give me a break... This man must be playing a deck short a few cards.
I'm still receiving threats against my job security. Someone must still think I work for GSA. Too bad they aren't smart enough to figure out I've changed jobs. As for continuing to email my boss, he's not overly concerned. So, stop bothering the man.
It's a shame some people have nothing better to do with their time.

Back to Craigslist and the drama there.
It seems that there are forum 'lurkers' still pledging the forums set-up by those who only wish to have a good time. I call them lurkers at this point because they fear showing their true selves, which most of us have already seen first hand.
They are allowed to behave any way they choose, posting personal information, hounding Craig daily, making threats, taunting, and what happens to them, NOTHING! Craig bans those who simply say 'Hello' and make an effort to hold a decent conversation.
He has the nerve to ask that I stop posting to CL, yet allow certain old individuals to continue to haunt his board for what ever reason. He'll threaten forum goers with contacting their ISP if they continue to post during the day. He's on the search now for a GSA employee who I suspect he's going to make an attempt to get fired.
For a public board, granted privately owned, and is supposed to community policed, he is out to get a group of individuals who had the balls to stand up to a two-faced old bat who still to this day, continues to make idle threats and taunt others into confirntations with her. Allowing her behavior to continue.
I'm considering setting up a Yahoo group for the ladies I've met through CL. Which are some pretty amazing ones if you ask me. Sure, we've had our differences, and they've taunted me, called me names, but hey.. we all act a little childish from time to time when there is a bully present. Who's Stalking who here?
This morning, upon arriving to work, my employer informed me of his recent conversations with Woody. Oh yes, she's taken to stalking me employer; 8 emails in one day, several phone calls to his cell phone demanding he force me to publically apologize to her.
Just who is stalking whom? The emails she forwarded display ONLY my posts in the CL forums, and half of them have been edited to show me a far bigger monster than I really am.
She's stated that I've called her several times, when in fact, I've phoned once, and by the time I told her who I was, she hung up the phone. I've emailed her once, she's labeled it as threatening and harassment.
She's contacted Blogger.com as well regarding my Blog. She's making demands on Blogger now. WOW, this woman, who can't even cross the street, has some balls!! :D

Craig identifies that although she is Using AOL - she is connecting through a US Government site (GSA) - which in one of The following posts she self identifies - including a phone number.
You are requested to immediately terminate Ms. Bakers account and Remove this blog.
The following is sent as evidence of her threats and intentions to use My personal information:
Your immediate attention and reply is requested."
Using all these posts, I'll be looking through CL to find all her initiating posts to me. She is the aggressor after all here. She can dish it, but can't accept it when it's thrown right back at her.

To the Concerned Comment Poster ...
Thank you for your kind words. Thank you for the concern you showed me. I know, without a doubt, there are good people out there. It's sad, that a monster like Sheryl K. can cause such havoc and be allowed to run rough shod over a PUBLIC/Privately owned Forum such as CraigsList.
As for the harassment and continued attacks by Woody, no ma'am, at least not out in the open as before. She is still out there on CL though, that much I do know. She is still continuing to email and phone Craig, possibility daily for all I know too. All the negative points that all the old forum goers are now seeing appear are quit possibily Woody as well.
What is so sad about this whole thing is, Woody found me via a mutual forum board. Element Owners Club. My original handle was LmentalMastiffs, the same one I use for the EOC. Woody was Chusakaandme. "respectfully edited by request."

I will verify this and follow up with the Fauquier Co Sheriff's Dept. I'm speaking with the Magistrate tomorrow and will likely be issuing an Order of Protection. It's appearant that her bahavior is only appropriate for her and no one else.
She can make contact, make threats and push buttons, but no one else can. So.. S.K., if you are reading this. Enjoy while you can.

Ever heard the old saying, 'A leopard can't change is spots,' or 'that's a horse of another color.' Hear your mom or granmom say it about someone you thought was a friend, someone you considered to be truthful and honest? They probably said it to warn you to stay away from a person like that.
People who behave one way, then show you who they truly are by behaving another, are people to be leary of. For instance, this foul and unscrupulous Anti-flagger or flagger or self appointed Policing system of CL, Woodysnickle. You probably know her as just Woody. She has Craig Newmark's personal phone number and probably personal email at that. No, not the one we all get, Craig@craigslist.org.
She started out as a flagger, and a pretty abusive one at that. Posting personal information of several people who stood up and opposed her terroristic tactics, myself to be included in that. But, what I have to say first is this. I was dumb enough in the first place to put it out there for her to find. Then again, I am an adult and have nothing to hide about who I am or who I choose to associate with or who I volunteer with, etc. So, I don't blame anyone for her actions, other than her.
Recently, she's made it her lifes work, "12 hours a day policing CL" to make CL forums work the way she feels they should. I said she started out as a Flagger; well, she jumped over to being an Anti-flagger and now has jumped back to being a flagger. Hmm.. tells you someone may not be playing with a full deck of cards. She has almost as many handles as she does email addresses. She has the knowledge to change her IP address when one is banned by Craig or staff.
She can be overly aggressive and foul mouthed, abusive and threatening and yet, you stand up to her and you get banned by Craig or staff. She is the only person who is allowed to behave that way on CL. At least that is the perception that is being given off by CL Staff and Craig alike.
I had the never to stand up to her. Was not going to be dictated to by some old woman with a phobe of crossing the street. So, she's taken our her anger on me and I've literally driven this woman mad with hate. Which is sad by all accounts. Not something I was working towards. She actually gave the other Anti-flaggers an ultimatium, chat with 'Staffie' and you lose me as a friend.
Can you imagine, ordering your 'internet friends' to stop talking to someone on the internet? LOL Really now, what grade did we do that in? Middle school right? Okay, some of us perhaps did it in High Scholl as well. LOL But this woman is in her 60's for god's sake!

'this person' we were discussing. He never offered his name, not that I caught, and no follow-up telephone number to verify his creditability. So.. just be aware of this individual. She's bending Craig's ear an awful lot. And to think, this educated man is allowing it to happen. I often wonder if he's as smart and independent as he's played out to be.

Can you imagine, ordering your 'internet friends' to stop talking to someone on the internet? LOL Really now, what grade did we do that in? Middle school right? Okay, some of us perhaps did it in High Scholl as well. LOL But this woman is in her 60's for god's sake!
Last night, at about 9PM EST, I received a phone call from some man claiming to be a Montgomery County Police Officer and suggested that I refrain from any more contact with ... 'this person' we were discussing. He never offered his name, not that I caught, and no follow-up telephone number to verify his creditability. In dialing *69, the 'service was unavailable due to the number being outside my service area.' So, that tells me, deal ole Woody had a friend call me.
So.. just be aware of this individual. She's bending Craig's ear an awful lot. And to think, this educated man is allowing it to happen. I often wonder if he's as smart and independent as he's played out to be.

Malicious Flaggers hold no candle to Foul Abusive Anti-Flaggers
Over the course of the last few months, the 'flagging forum' 2626 has been over run with Anti-flaggers. Often times, these Anti-flaggers are so abusive, it's appauling to even read the language that comes from them. Flaggers actually pale in comparison to the behavior of these individuals.
If you are adult and brave enough to post something personal about yourself, they'll take it and surf the net and find out all there is about you that is to be had. They'll taunt you with it, pass it via email back and forth to their 'friends' and even make personal threats against your person and family. Some of them appear to have self-esteem issues; again, brave enough to post a picture of yourself, they bash your appearance, body structure, etc.
The most notorious of all the nastiest Anti-Flaggers was; well, the very reason this originial blog was begun. Yes, this person was a Flagger to begin with. Yet, somehow managing to change her stipes from Flagger to Anit-flagger she had begun to 'take over' and appoint herself' HEAD' of the Anti-flaggers.
They were creating secret forums, using code to direct those 'trusted friends' to hop over there and discuss their strategy for thwarting the Flaggers and those opposed to even their behavor. At one time, 'Barbeque' was an obvious code word. And in fact, it was the demise of the this so called 'group'.
Unbeknowst to an innocent bystander, they offered to bring potato salad to this 'Barbeque', and the "monster" flipped out accusing those 'trusted friends' of inviting someone that was not approved by her. How utterly awful, aint it all? :D
This forum is a huge pain in Craig's backside. Handle banning, IP banning, and all this just isn't working. Things are beginning to crumb in that room. Mental states are being questioned, especially that of the 'head' of the clan. She has openly admitted to spending 12 hrs a day on CL 'policing' in her own way, her own agenda, the way she feels the board should be run.
Truly sad! All of it!

CraigsList & Malicious Flaggers
If you've used CL for any lenght of time, you know all about the Flaggers. People who make it their business to uphold the TOU regardless of the actual post made.
Generally, they focus all their time on Animal related ads. Whether that be hidden in the 'General' community or the 'Pets' community section. Now, the TOU states "No Selling of LIVE Animals." That is not my issue here, that is the easy part. If you violate the TOU, you should be flagged off the board.
But that is not always the case here. There is a group, abeit small, of malicious flaggers that flag anything they, personally, disagree with. Whether that be the way the ad reads (spayed or neutered vs. not altered), omission of any fee, or the 'adoption/rehoming fee' that is being sought. They flag with little regard for the animal its self.
They have a forum, http://forums.washingtondc.craigslist.org/?forumID=2626 they use to communicate and get ads from all over CL flagged off. They even use it to make personal commentary and belittling remarks about individuals. They have also been known to post personal and business information and even gone as far as to offer it to those other flaggers who wish to make a nuisance of themselves.
To further compound this issue, CraigsList employees are Banning IP addresses and 'handles', and deleting posts from one forum, essentially moving them to the "Isle of Misfit Threads" http://forums.washingtondc.craigslist.org/?forumID=1047&batch=1 of anyone who steps up and opposes the Flaggers.
In excerts from CLs CEO, Jim Buckmaster; he states (in relation to the "Fair" Housing lawsuit) that the "community-moderated commons run by and for its users, who self-publish and manage their own ads and use a flagging system to police the site."
It's this 'self policing' that have allowed the Flaggers free rein to abuse the system and get posts NOT violating the TOU removed. If indeed this "Community-moderated commons" is self policed, why is it that employees of CL are banning IP addresses, handles, and deleting posts of those individuals who oppose the majority of the Flaggers and what they stand for?
Are they infact not, "eroding important free speech" (again taken from the "Fair" housing lawsuit - stated by CEO, Jim Buckmaster). Do those who stand in opposition not have the right to voice that opposition to the actions of a select few?
